We got on the road in good time, heading across northern Wisconsin into Michigan's Upper Peninsula (UP). As we mentioned last night, it is "the outback." No Interstate Highway to travel. Mostly two lane highways with a wider passing area periodically. We started the day on US 51 north, the same road that passes through downtown Carbondale, IL. We ended the day on US 41 north, the same road that passes through Tampa FL, from Miami, known as the TAMIAMI Trail. Interesting. On the very eastern end of the UP, where we are now, is I-75. Again, the Interstate Highway that pass through Tampa from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, ending at the Canadian border. The good news is there was very little traffic. Very windy however. Dale was glad to have this leg of the trip behind us. Driving a high profile vehicle, towing a high profile vehicle was a lot of work. Time to rest.
Had some really beautiful weather the last two days. Mid-70s during the day, open window weather at night (low 60s). We're looking forward to some really nice weather on Mackinac Island tomorrow and Thursday. Looks like wind may be the only issue.
284 miles today.
