Moving Day - Concord, New Hampshire

Moving Day - always presents a challenge or two. Must be our inexperience, maybe the new roads we have to travel. Always interesting. Rain adds a whole new dimension. Tearing down the site means being out in it, getting wet. Today was extra difficult because it was 57 degrees and no end in sight for the rain band. Beautiful day, in the rain.

Speaking of inexperience, ours has definitely shown through. We had no idea how seasonal RV traveling is. Today marks the last weekend many Parks are open, next week they'll close until next May. What are some of the unknowns? Well, most of the showers we had available to us over the last week have had lukewarm water (at best) and no heat in the building - designed for summer usage. Patti used the shower in the rig, but it is too small for Dale (height & width). There were two Parks that we had to pay $1 (four quarters) for a 10 minute shower. Wait, what? Water conservation and environmentalism taken to a whole new level. Dale hasn't shaved in a week. Lukewarm shower without heat - OK. Lukewarm water shave - NO way! Check out the selfie below.

Because of Columbus Day weekend and us "leaf-peepers," space in the area parks is limited and we were unable to get the "pull through" space we need. As a result, we are staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Concord NH for the next four nights. Hot Shower, in a temperature controlled environment. And, a hot water shave for Dale! He's all smiles.

The next three days we'll be ducking around all the Presidential Candidates that spend their weekends in New Hampshire. Concord is the State Capitol and the hotels are full. Interesting. Tomorrow we're going to visit Canterbury and the Shaker Village there. Sunday we'll venture up Mount Washington. And, Monday we plan to enjoy a lobster roll somewhere in Maine.

Stay tuned.

157 Miles Today.
